Aka... La Passante, The Passerby, and as Die Spaziergängerin von Sans-Souci, in West germany.
This film was taken from the book of the same name and was actually published in 1936. It is probably the very first book
that ever mentioned the Nazi concentration camps:
Each and every day at first light a writer sees a woman, Elsa Wiener, going by Montmartre, and is soon to learn that she
has fled Nazi Germany. Elsa's husband Michel is is still in Germany, locked up in one of the concentration camps there. Elsa
sings in a nightclub to earn her living. She has a small boy called Max with her, he is a little Jewish boy, and he has been
made disabled by the Germans. The auther is slowly falling in love with Elsa but wonders if what he feels is real?
